GRADE 5 WRITING PROJECT

This term the students are working on a writing project about the special people (and pets) in their lives. Each week, for homework they are required to choose a special person (eg. mum), choose a text type (eg, information report) and write a draft. Last week some students decided to write a poem about their mum or write an information report on their dog. For each special person a different text type must be chosen. After the students have written all of their drafts they will then present their writing, photos and pictures in the style of a book.

PROCEDURAL WRITING

We are learning to write procedural texts. In our ICT lessons we created mini “how to…” movies. We used SmartRecorder to record our voices and images.
